OptiMatrics

Helping your student understand how they naturally succeed.

What we do

We work with students and families to reveal the innate abilities every student already has — the instinctive strengths that make real academic success possible, long before a report card ever reflects it.

Your personal  OptiMatrics consultant will give you a  plain-language picture of how your student naturally takes action, solves problems, and gets things done, and how you as a parent can support that instinct instead of  working against it.

Discover Their Strengths
A self-assessment, using the Kolbe Y™ Index for students, will reveal your child’s conative abilities, providing a clear picture of how they instinctively approach projects and problem-solving.

Reveal Their Obstacles

The Kolbe A™ Index for parents provides clarity into the processes and scenarios that frustrate your child, allowing parents to give support that is uniquely suited to their child's strengths.

Maximize Their Potential
By giving your child the tools and strategies to learn in ways that are natural to them, they will feel more productive and less susceptible to stress.

Why self-awareness matters for student success

11 point gain

Students in social-emotional learning programs — which build self-awareness — scored 11 percentile points higher in academic achievement than peers who did not.

Durlak et al., Child Development, meta-analysis of 213 studies & 270,000+ K–12 students (CASEL)

1321 teens

A 2025 study found that adolescents with a clearer sense of self showed a stronger link between having purpose and achieving academically.

Every Level

Students strong in self-awareness and self-regulation earn better grades, graduate at higher rates, and post improved test scores.

Greater Good in Education, UC Berkeley, citing CASEL research

Lifetime

A landmark study tracked 1,000+ children from birth into adulthood: early self-control predicted health, wealth & life success at 32 — regardless of IQ.
